What Are Idaho Oversize Permits?
Idaho requires oversize permits for vehicles and loads exceeding the standard legal size and weight limits on its roads. These licenses guarantee that huge loads be transported effectively and legally, while also security facility integrity and public safety.
– Idaho Single Trip Permits: These permits are issued for one-time travel within the state.
– Idaho Annual Permits: Offers long-term authority for the transportation of heavy loads on a regular basis.
– Idaho Overhang Permits: Control weights that extend beyond the front or rear of the vehicle.
– Idaho Overweight Permits: Allowance for loads that exceed regular weight limitations.
Idaho Permits: Oversize permits in Idaho are valid for five travel days. Single trip permits valid for 4 days. A permit is necessary to enter the state.
Idaho Operating Hours: Operating hours are from half an hour before sunrise until half an hour after sunset, including Saturdays and Sundays for most routes. Loads up to 10 feet broad, 110 feet long, or 14 feet 6 inches high may drive 24 hours a day, seven days a week on most routes as long as they are adequately lit according to the permission. Weekend travel is allowed during daytime hours on most routes.
Idaho Limited Travel: During peak hours in Boise, Caldwell, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho Falls, Lewiston, Nampa, Pocatello, Twin Falls, Garden City, and Chubbuck, loads more than 13 feet in width are forbidden. Holiday travel limitations may apply, depending on the load size.
